Corrosion protection of a fiberglass tank for hydrochloric acid

B-Team Corrosion Protection recently applied an anticorrosive sistem based on ceramic polymers at one of the largest manufacturers of inorganic coagulants in Romania, with extensive experience in manufacturing and selling market of chemical reagents for water treatment, making it safe for drinking, for municipal wastewater or from various industries (paper industry, food industry, cosmetics industry, the oil industry.

The anticorrosive sistem for the exterior fiberglass sistem of the hidrocloric acid tank was performed with a sistem that consists of high performance products: Ultraperform  2R and Proguard 169. The main goal was to fully cover all the pores and small holes in the tank wall and preclude all possible leak of HCl.

 Specific coating system has been applied in several layers, after having first surface  cleaned with water and sanding. In this way it was ensured a high resistance to mechanical and chemical factors, and provided a long-term durability of the tank.

Specific aspects for choosing protection system based on Ultraperfom ProGuard 169 and Ultraperform 2R are excellent chemical and thermal resistances of the products, even at extreme operating temperatures and resistance to fluid pressure.
