Corrosion protection against transformer oil. How to keep metal quality?

The location

Dniester river has its course over a distance of 1352 km between Ukraine and Moldova, ending at the Black Sea. In appropriation of the ukrainian city Novodnitrovk is located the hydropower plant "Dnestrovsk Hydro Power Station", the place were the corrosion protection system was applied.

On what sections has the product been applied ?

12 tanks were protected for transformer oil product used as Proguard CN 200. Transformer-oil is composed of highly refined petroleum, but increasingly the environmentally-friendly synthetic and organic ester is utilized for this purpose.

Why was the application necessary ?

Taking into account the risk of corrosion facing the storage tanks, it was necessary to apply a product that would provide chemical resistance. Proguard CN 200 product has the characteristics required for long-lasting protection.

On the outside surface of the the tanks was applied crosslinked polyurethane product Proguard 169. This product provides protection against corrosion and UV radiation.
