Beneficiary
CEMEX company was the beneficiary of this project. The company was founded in 1906 in Mexico and is among the leading suppliers of building materials worldwide, developing projects in over 50 countries.
Location
The concrete-transporter was located in Egypt, where repairs were carried and the application of a corrosion protection system on the external surface.
before the application after the application after the application
The application process
Was heavily corroded surface was properly prepared by grit blasting. Susceptible and defective spots were refinished with Proguard GS mortar.
After completing the preparation stage, the product for exterior surfaces STP Ceramic-Polymer-2 was applied by airless spray. Two layers of 100-150 μm were necessary to ensure long-lasting corrosion protection and abrasion resistance.
The last phase was represented by applying the polyurethane product Proguard 169 with a 60 μm layer thickness. This provides stability to UV radiation and weathering.
The combination of the two products is reflected in the extension of the life cycle and efficiency of the concrete-transporter.
