Major project in Turkey

In industrial enterprise where chemicals are processed, stored and transported, it is mandatory for surfaces and equipment to have a optimal protection against corrosion. Such requirements, for durability of structures, corrosion and abrasion resistance were addressed by our customer Eti Bakir Co, Turkey.

Eti Bakir Co. Mazidagi Phosphate Plants are established in the district of Mazidagi in Mardin. With a history over 40 years, Mazidagi Phosphate Plants capacity for producing phosphate rock is 550,000 tons per year. The owner decided to invest in a phosphoric acid plant, sulphuric acid plant and other chemical factories.

Do to the exposure of tanks to a wide variety of aggressive acids (phosphoric and sulphuric) and mechanical stress, essential anti-corrosion measures were selected for each tank according to the particular chemical, mechanical and specific environmental conditions.


  


Services for this project

B-Team Corrosion Protection services for this project include project management, surface preparation, corrosion protection systems application and continuous quality control, for a surface area of 70.000 m2 in over 60 tanks (storage tanks, settling tanks, reaction tanks, digestion tanks, pipelines and the surfaces of basins underneath these items). Also Eti Bakir is now a workplace and home for over 45 workers from B-Team Corrosion Protection. 

All applied systems are composed of multiple layers of linings (resin layers, reinforced fiber glass layers), rubber membranes, acid-proof bricks (carbon bricks, ceramic bricks), special acid proof mortars and epoxy coatings. Materials recommended and produce by our partner Tip Top Oberflächenschutz Elbe GmbH are distinguished both by excellent chemical resistance which provides corrosion protection and abrasion resistance for wear protection.
